AUSTRALIA FAMILY ADVENTURE HOLIDAY

Family Holiday Overview

Australia is the epitome of wild beauty; a land whose kaleidoscope of cinnamon-red earth, neon reefs and emerald rainforests encircle cosmopolitan cities and indigenous dreamtime stories. For most visitors its name is a shorthand for an endless summer; a blessed life of warm sunshine, a thriving beach culture and a hedonistic lifestyle.

The country’s interior hosts vivid blue skies, rocky outcrops, outback towns, deserted gorges and the oldest surviving human culture dating back 70,000 years. The coast serves up dazzling white beaches, epic surf breaks and a rainbow of colour in the underwater ecosystems. Inland lush tropical rainforests make you feel like you are starring in The Day of the Triffids. There are shining new cities, a vibrant youth culture and a stellar food scene.

Animating these amazing landscapes is wildlife like nowhere else on planet Earth. Koalas, kangaroos, wombats and platypus plus the more obscure echidna, thorny devil, cassowary and sugar glider. This is a country to unleash the inner Attenborough in any young explorer.

For active families, Australia is adrenaline heaven; surf on Bondi, scuba dive off the Great Barrier Reef, sail on the Whitsundays, camel ride in Broome, drive 4x4’s on Kangaroo Island, swim with whale sharks on the Ningaloo Reef, climb waterfalls in the Top End or hike coastal tracks in Tasmania. In the outback, camp under the stars in your swag and be educated in the constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.

Australia is a country that gets under your skin. You’ll probably want to move here permanently and live life dedicated to the perfect wave. You’ll may find yourself saying ‘sweet’ and ‘mate’ a lot and adopting a pet gecko named Powderpuff (or maybe that was just us!)

Wandering Tribe put together an epic three-week adventure for our family of five to Australia

Australia - Hook Family Testimonial

Wandering Tribe put together an epic three-week adventure for our family of five to Australia. Visiting Australia had always been a dream but with a country so big we didn’t know here to begin. Sally’s first-hand experience was invaluable. She has travelled the length and breadth of the country and was able to incorporate unique, below the radar experiences not usually found on your average trip. We experienced the city, the bush, the outback and the coast and enjoyed so many activities from hiking to rafting, sailing, SUP, zip-lining and we even learned to surf a few small waves. We literally had nothing to do beforehand as all of the trip research was given to us so we knew the best activity companies, places to eat, viewpoints, driving tips etc. We would without doubt book another adventure with Wandering Tribe.
